Scribble: an innovative pen with (almost) no limit Posted: 23 Jul 2014 04:09 PM PDT Scribble pen is an innovative pen with almost no limit in the color. It is the first coloring device that lets you draw in 16 million different colors. With scribble, you can take the world of color around you and transfer it directly to either paper or your favorite mobile device. Designers of the scribble pen Mark Barker and Robert Hoffmansays the pen is "the first coloring device of its kind that can take the world of color around you and transfer it directly to either paper or your favorite mobile device." The two different scribbles pens – Scribble Ink and Scribble Stylus pairs with Scribble+ mobile app to instantly sync every color that you can scan directly onto your Android or iPhone devices. The scribble ink is an ink cartridge that lets you draw on paper with the color that you have captured. The Scribble Stylus allows you to splash color around on your mobile devices screen but make sure you have Scribble app installed. These both versions of scribble pen use Bluetooth technology and Micro-USB cables in order to communicate with computer. It measures only about 6.3 inches and if you wonder how it works then the answer is very simple. The pen actually scans a color from any object and can transform the ink to match the same color. Sounds amazing right? A company spokesman said, "For the color blind, kids, interior decorators, homeowners, teachers, artists, photographers, designers and students, the Scribble color picker pen will make copying an exact color, any color from any object, an absolute breeze." So definitely the scribble pen is a wonder piece to try. The post Scribble: an innovative pen with (almost) no limit appeared first on Design daily news. Better than drugs, the kaleidoscopic mirror tunnel Posted: 23 Jul 2014 03:59 PM PDT Wink Space is the first Zipper Architecture in the world designed by Masakazu Shirane and Saya Miyazaki as part of the 'Art in a Container International Competition' for 2013 KOBE Biennale. Wink space is a modular installation made from mirrors that formed a giant kaleidoscopic tunnel. It was really a piece of fun and innovation which was declared as the winner of A'Design Award. "We wanted to create the world's first zipper architecture. In other words, this polyhedron is completely connected by zippers. And in order to facilitate even more radical change some of the surfaces open and close like windows," says Shirane. The inspiration for this creative art came from a concept that architecture so far had been hard, heavy and fixed but however the next generation's art should be soft, lighting and moving. This idea is inspired by FUSUMA and SHOJI that is used in Japanese traditional housing. The wink space is a third prototype based on this idea. The designers say, "We believe our concept is suitable for the architecture of the 21st century. To achieve it we have to find new technology, Zipper is one of possibility." All the panels in wink space are connected by zippers. The whole aim is to make a kaleidoscope changing with the movement of a person in the container. 3D printing: now delivering ice-creams Posted: 23 Jul 2014 03:49 PM PDT The 3D printing is one of the hottest tech buzz words nowadays. With several innovations in 3D from flowers to Nutella, now it's introducing a new type of material which everyone screams for – yes, it's an ice cream! This innovative idea was discovered by the 3 Students, Kyle Hounsell, Kristine Bunker, and David Donghyun Kim at MIT, as part of a project for Professor John Hart's graduate class on additive manufacturing. Knowing the fact that 3D printer will be used by future generation for multiple purposes, these students tried on creating edible treats in the shapes that they desire. And ultimately they came up with ice-cream. The student says, "The main reason we feel an Ice Cream 3D printer is an important addition to current additive manufacturing technology is that it interests children. By combining this new technology of additive manufacturing with ice cream, we have found a way to interest children in technology and pursuing science and engineering in the future." For making the 3D ice cream printer, the students used and modified a Solidoodle 3D printer as well as a Cuisinart Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker. A small upright freezer was placed in Solidoodle to allow building the full volume. A shield gas was used to solidify the ice cream as soon as it was extruded from the 3D printer. To do this, a system using a cryogen line was built that was bent in a circle to go around the entire extruder in order to spray liquid nitrogen onto the ice cream as it was extruded. Also special temperature controllers were used with reasonable speed. So are you all ready to scream for this innovative 3D ice-cream printing? Let us know your views through the comment below.
